3.7 Glasses Hearing & Vision Mode

What is Hearing and Vision Assistance

Rokid Glasses include Hearing Assistance and Vision Assistance accessibility modes. Hearing Assistance turns nearby speech, calls, and audio from your phone into live captions. Vision Assistance observes the surroundings and describes what is in front of you through audio.

Turn On Hearing Assistance

  • During first-time pairing, the Hi Rokid App opens Mode Selection. Choose Hearing Assistance and complete the onboarding steps.
  • If pairing is already complete, go to Home, open Settings, select Accessibility, and turn on Hearing Assistance. The change takes effect immediately.

Use Live Captions

  • Press and hold the function key to start Live Captions. Nearby speech appears as text on the glasses.
  • Live Captions can pick up speakers from different directions within a range of about one to three meters.
  • Voice wake-up is off by default in Hearing Assistance. Double-tap the touchpad when you want to close the captions.

Use Captions During Calls

  • Call captions show both sides of a conversation in real time.
  • They work with phone calls, WhatsApp, WeChat, and other in-app calls. They can also caption audio or video played through the phone speaker.
  • A receiver icon marks the other person's words at the top of the display. A microphone icon marks your words below.

Turn On Vision Assistance

  • During first-time pairing, choose Visual Aid in Mode Selection.
  • If pairing is already complete, go to Home, open Settings, select Accessibility, and choose Vision Assistance.

The glasses display is off by default while this mode is active.

Use Vision Assistance

  • Say Hi Rokid, open Vision, or press and hold the function key.
  • Once Vision is open, the glasses use visual and audio input to describe the surroundings in real time.
  • You do not need to repeat the wake word for follow-up questions. Ask the next question directly.
  • Single-tap the touchpad to mute or unmute the microphone. Double-tap to exit.
