Rokid has confirmed a camera-lens obstruction detection design for Rokid AI Glasses Style and Rokid Glasses. Detection applies before video recording starts and while it is underway. When the camera lens is covered, it triggers a stop to video recording. This is a specific recording safeguard that supports more responsible use of a wearable camera.
How camera-lens obstruction affects recording
A check before recording begins addresses the camera's condition at that point. The situation can change during a clip. The distinction in Rokid's described design is that obstruction detection remains active during recording, so its response also applies when the lens becomes covered after recording has started.
What this means for people nearby
Rokid's capture indicator guidance describes an outward-facing light that signals photo or video capture to people nearby. The indicator communicates camera activity; camera-lens obstruction detection provides the stopping response described above. They do different jobs.
Together, these features give recording an outward cue and a response to an obstructed lens. The design supports responsible recording alongside the wearer's choices about when to capture a moment.
Letting people know you're recording and respecting a request to stop still matter. An indicator is a cue for people nearby, rather than a guarantee that everyone will notice or understand it.

A no-training statement doesn't establish that data never leaves a device. Nor does it give a deletion deadline. Those are questions for the processing and retention terms.
Retention and deletion need their own explanation
The policy's retention section sets no single period for every type of data. It describes factors including the service involved and legal obligations. Its controls include changing or withdrawing consent and requesting account deletion. For a question about your own setup, give the device name and the feature you're using, along with the app version. If your concern is an audio recording after translation has finished, ask about that recording's retention period. An answer about the translated text would leave the original question unresolved.
